DAVLEKANOVSKY RAION
DAVLEKANOVSKY RAION, located in the W of the RB. Established on August 20, 1930. Abolished on February 1, 1963, the territory became part of Alsheyevsky Raion. Newly established on January 13, 1965. Territory — 1,907 km2. Adm. centre — Davlekanovo, which is located 105 km SW of Ufa. Population — 39.8 thous. people (2017).
In 2018, the area of agricultural lands amounted to 160.0 thous. ha (85.8% of the total area), including arable lands — 100.0, hayfields — 16.5, pastures — 43.3; forest area — 10.7 and surface waters — 3.9. Agricultural enterprises [14 OOOs, 102 peasant (farmer) farms] specialize in the cultivation of grain crops, buckwheat, sugar beets, sunflower and meat and dairy cattle breeding. Horse breeding, pig breeding and sheep breeding are well developed. On the territory of the Raion, there is the Davlekanovo Plants Testing Site. The Kuibyshev Railway (Abdulino—Ufa Section) and Chishma—Aksyonovo— Kirghiz Miyaki, Buzdyak—Davlekanovo and Davlekanovo—Tolbazy highways cross the territory.
There are: 22 general education schools, 19 pre school educational institutions and 11 pre school groups, a children’s art centre, Sambo 75 youth sports school; a central hospital and a rural hospital, 40 medical and obstetrical centers; the central Palace of Culture, 35 clubs, a children’s school of arts, a local history museum, A.Khakimov Memorial House and 27 libraries. There are: 9 folk and 6 exemplary amateur art groups; 5 national cultural centers (Bashkir, Russian, Tatar, Ukrainian and Chuvash).
