KALIMULLIN, Bary Gibatovich [10.4.1907 in Derevnya Duvan‑Mechetlino of Zlatoustovsky Uyezd, Ufa Gub. (now Mechetlinsky Raion of the RB) — 21.7.1989, Ufa], Architect, Art Historian. Associate Member of the Academy of Building and Architecture of the USSR (1957), Doctor of Arts and Full Professor (1976). Merited Architect of RSFSR (1976), Merited Figure of Arts of the BASSR (1947). Awarded with the Order of Banner of Red Labour (1949). After graduating from the Novosibirsk Engineering and Building Institute (1935) worked in the trust company of Bashproekt, between 1951—63, he worked in the History, Language and Literature Institute (Ufa). In 1966, he began working in the Kazan Engineering and Building Institute. Between 1971—87, he worked in the UPI. Between 1936—37 and 1944—65, as part of his work in The Union of Architects of the BASSR, he laid the foundation for scientific research in the field of Bashkortostan’s republican architecture, village settlement planning, urban development as well as participated in the development of projects for a number of buildings in Ufa. He is also responsible for the creation of general building plans for the towns of Baymak, Beloretsk, Ishimbay and Sterlitamak.
