CALCINED SODA (soda ash). The production of C.s. by the Solve method (chemical interaction of carbon dioxide and ammonia with a saturated water solution of chloride and the subsequent burning of the resultant sodium bicarbonate) was mastered in Bashkortostan at the Sterlitamak Soda Plant in 1951. C.s. is produced of grades A (granular) and B (powdered). It is applied in the manufacturing of caustic soda, glass, synthetic detergents, in pulping, acidic components neutralization during the petroleum products rectification, colorants manufacturing, etc. The RB is the leader in production of C.s. (50%) in the RF (2017).
