KAKHYM-TURYA (born Kakhym Murzashev; 1778, Derevnya Ayuchino of Yurmatynskaya Volost of Sterlitamaksky Uyezd of Orenburg Gub., now Selo Ayuchevo of Sterlitamaksky Raion of the RB, — 1813). Sotnik. Participant of the Patriotic War of 1812 and Foreign Campaigns of the Russian Army of 1813—14. Presumably, served as the Bashkir Сavalry Regiment Сommander. Died in one of the battles in Poland (according to other data, in Germany); according to a legend, he was poisoned in Vladimir Gub. on his way home. Kakhym-Turya, the Bashkir folk song, is a tribute to him.
