LEONTYEV, Alexey Fyodorovich (27.3.1917, Selo Yakovtsevo of Nizhny Novgorod Gub. – 14.4.1987, Ufa), Mathematician. Associate Member of the AS USSR (1970), Dr.Sci. (Phys.‑Math.) (1948), Full Professor (1949). Merited Scientist of the BASSR (1975). Laureate of the USSR State Award (1989). Awarded with the Order of the October Revolution (1987). Graduated from the Gorky University (1939). In 1971–87 at the Phys. and Maths Department of the Bashkir Branch of the AS USSR, and at the same time at the BSU. L. has established the Ufa sci. school of the complex variable functions theory, the research area for exponential polynomial sequence properties, theory of representations of random analytical functions by exponential series. The Academy of Sciences of the RB has established an award bearing his name.
