LUTFULLIN, Akhmat Fatkullovich (4.2.1928, Derevnya Abzelilovo of the TamyanKataisky Canton of the BASSR, now Selo Askarovo of Abzelilovsky Raion of the RB, — 10.7.2007, Ufa, buried in Selo Abzakovo of Beloretsky Raion of the RB), Artist. Acad. of the Russian Academy of Arts (1997). People’s Artist of the USSR (1989) and the RSFSR (1982), Merited Artist of the RSFSR (1978) and BASSR (1966). Laureate of the Salavat Yulayev Award of the BASSR (1982). One of the central figures in the field of Fine Arts of Bashkortostan of the 2nd half of the 20th century. L.’s creative work presents the unity of different genres and themes. His artistic language is characterized by a variety of compositional and pictorial techniques, a complex combination of traditional realism with innovative trends of modern art and the traditions of folk art. The portraits made by L. represent various types of the Bashk. people and facets of national character: Mother, Boy Mukhtar, Kolkhoznitsa Ishbike-apay, Veteran S.
