MAGAZOVA, Khazina Nurmukhametovna (5.5.1916, Posyolok Shelebenguy of Trans‑Baikal Obl. – 10.5.1998, Ufa), Dancer. Merited Worker of Culture of the RSFSR (1991), People’s (1949) and Merited (1945) Artist of the BASSR. Awarded with the Order of the Badge of Honor (1949, 1956). Since 1939 Soloist of the Bashkir Ensemble of Ethnic Dance, between 1956–66 – at the Bashkir Philharmonic. She was the first performer of the Bashkir dance on professional stage. M.’s name is associated with the formation of the female image in the Bashkir choreography. Her performance art was distinguished by a great degree of delicate refinement of movements, and emotionality. This was in combination with certain natural lightness, plasticity and scenic charisma. It allowed the artist to create unforgettable images in the minds of the audience.
