NUREYEV INTERNATIONAL BALLET ART FESTIVAL

THE NUREYEV INTERNATIONAL BALLET ART FESTIVAL. Has been held in Ufa annually since 1993 (except 1996– 97). In 2003 the festival was included in the Culture of Russia Federal Program. Among the participants of the festival are Yuri Grigorovich Ballet Troupe, Minor Sympho- ny Orchestra, Classic Ballet, Russian Bal- let, Kremlin Ballet theatres (all – in Moscow), ballet troupes from theatres of opera and ballet of Yekaterinburg, Perm, and Chelyabinsk, N.I.Satz’ Moscow Children’s Theatre, Cairo Opera House, Modern, Aris- ton, Liliana Cozy’ and Marinel Stefanescu’ ballet theatres (all – Italy); soloists of the Bolshoy Theatre, K.S.Stanislavsky’ and V.I.Nemirovich-Danchenko’ Moscow the- atres, incl. the graduates of R.Nureyev Choreographic College as well as other performers from around the world. The festival hosts anniversary evenings of ballet dancers, thematic art and photo exhibitions, and premieres of Bashkir State Opera and Ballet Theatre ballets among other activi- ties. The Honorary President of the festival is Yu.N.Grigorovich.
