ODINOKOV, Viktor Nikolayevich (b.22.12.1937 in Klin), Organic Chemist. Associate Member of the AS RB (1991), D.Sci. (Chemical Sciences) (1981), Full Professor (1984). Merited Master of Sciences of the RF (1998), BASSR (1987). Graduated from the Moscow Chemical Technology Institute (1960). Since 1970 in the Institute of Organic Chemistry, since 1992 in the Institute of Petrochemistry and Catalysis. Scientific works are dedicated to the chemistry of ecdysteroids (molting hormones, metamorphosis, insect diapause). O. studied the ecdysteroid composition of the crowned sawwort, identified 18 phytoecdysteroids, carried out chemical transformations of their main component – 20‑hydroxy ecdysone, synthesized rare and inaccessible from natural sources phytoecdysteroids and their analogues, which are prospective for further development. Between 1995–2004 Chief Editor of The Bulletin of the Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Bashkortostan.
