TALKAS

TALKAS, a lake in the basin of the Ural River, 4 km SE of Selo Tubinsky of Baymaksky Raion, in the territories of Irendyk Natural Park and natural monument Lake Talkas (2021). Surface area — 4.2 km², length — 4.0 km, aver. width — 1.0—1.3 km, aver. depth — 4.5 m (max. — 12.0 m), volume of water — 18.9 million m³. Sodium-magnesium-calcium water. Schoenoplectus lacustris, sedge, etc grow here. It is inhabited by fish, European Arctic loon, gray goose, gray goose, Melanitta fusca.
