TANALYK, an archaeological site of the Bronze Age dating back to the 14—15th centuries BC. It is located 1.5 km to the NE of Derevnya Khvorostyanskoye of Khaibullinsky Raion, on the cape of the primary terrace of the left bank of the Tanalyk River (now in the flood zone of the Tanalyk Reservoir). Discovered in 1995 by G.N.Garustovich and A.F.Yaminov and studied by a joint expedition of BGPI, BSU, Institute of History, Language and Literature, the National Museum of the RB (under the guidance of N.A.Mazhitov), Sterlitamak State Pedagogical Institute. Approx. 6.5 thous. m2 were dug out. At the settlement there were found approximately 10 dwellings of frame-pillar construction, hearths, wells, and household pits. Ceramics found were represented by fragments of vessels of the Abashevo, Alakul, Srubnaya (Timber-grave), and Cherkaskul cultures. In the northern and eastern parts of the artifact, five graves found. There were also found items made from bones such as arrowheads, punctures, and polishers, items made from stone such as a pestle, grain grinders, maces, etc). There were also traces of metal processing (pieces of ore, slag, stone hammers, anvils, and trowelled plates), and animal bones. The materials of this artifact are stored in the National Museum.
