AFANASYEVA Lira Arkadyevna

AFANASYEVA Lira Arkadyevna (b. 20.3. 1974, Vasilyevka village, Ishimbayskiy district, BASSR), folklorist. Candidate of Philology (2009). She graduated from Chuvash state university n.a. I.N. Ulyanov (Cheboksary, 1996) and started working in the Sterlitamak branch of BSU. Her main scientific activity is focused on ethnic and linguistic study of Chuvash and other peoples’ ritual folklore from the Ural and Volga regions, on the problems of literature and folklore connections. She is an author of more than 80 scientific papers. She is a participant in the compilation of “Folklore dialectological atlas of Chuvashes from the Bashkortostan Republic” (2015–17), completion of the project «Republic folklore ethnographic festival “Living heritage of Bashkortostan peoples”», was a nominee on “The best innovative teacher’s project” contest (2013, Sterlitamak). She is a member of Chuvash ethnic academy of science and art (2012).
