GABITOV  Khabibulla  Gabdelkagirovich

GABITOV  Khabibulla  Gabdelkagirovich (May 1886–14.4.1938), poet, linguist, folklorist. One of the first researchers of Bashkir folklore; one of the compilers of the collection of prov­ erbs “Words of the Ancients. Proverbs and Sayings in the Bashkir Language” (1924). The kubair poems recorded by G. were included in the book “Bashkort khalyk izhady”. G. pub­ lished a fragment of the epic “Idukai and Muradym” (1923). Вased on the Bashkir folk songs “Ynyykay and Yuldykay”, G. wrote an like­named play (1924). Author of the poetry collections “Aspirations of the Bashkirs” (1918), “Songs of the Urals” (1923).
