GABIT-SESEN [real name: Argynbayev Gabit Bikmukhametovich; 1856 (according to other data, 1850), Derevnya Idrisovo of Verkhneuralsky Uyezd of Orenburg Gub., now Derevnya Verkhneidrisovo of Baymaksky Raion of the RB, 1921, Ibid.], Poet-Improviser. A disciple of Ishmukhamet-sesen. At the beginning of the 20th century, M.A. Burangulov recorded as heard from G.s. legends, the song titled Ural, a number of epics and kubairs (Ural-batyr, Akbuzat, etc), as well as the poems by Salavat Yulayev. He was the winner of the kuray players and storytellers competitions held in 1912 in Derevnya Yakupovo of Orenburg Gub. and in Orenburg in honour of the 100th Anniversary of the victory in the Patriotic War of 1812. He also was the Winner of the competition organized in Sterlitamak in 1920 by the Bashkir government.
