KAKHYM-TURYA
“KAKHYM-TURYA”, Bashkir ethnic song, uzunkuy. First registered by S.G. Rybakov in the Temyasovo village of Orskiy District (Baymak District, BR) from quaray player Birgali and singer Abdrakhman Uzyanbaev, published in the book “Music and songs of the Ural Muslims and their household description”. The song is lyroepic. Dedicated to Ka khym Murzashev (Kasim Murdashev; 1778–1814), the commander of a Bashkir regiment in the Patriotic war of 1812 and Russian army’s foreign campaigns in 1813–1814. He was born in the Ayuchevo village of Yurmaty parish of Nagay road (Sterlitamak District). According to one of the stories, the song was composed by Kakhym’s comradesinarms after his death, according to another story – Kakhym was poisoned by envious people, but he managed to compose a song and sing it to his mother before his death. The melody of “K.T.” covers 2 octaves. It has a variable meter and beat. It is richly ornamented; the melody basically consists of interval leaps to the fourth and the sixth. The musical adaptations of “K.T.” for a capella choir were made by Y.M. Zemtsov, B.I. Shestakov. The melody of the song was used by K.F. Akhmetov and R.A. Murtazin in the music of their documentary film “Soviet Bashkiria”. A.S. Klyucharev used it in his String quartet, M.M. Valeev and N.I. Peyko used it in “Aykhylu” opera, Z.G. Ismagilov wrote a selftitled opera, Y.Z. Bikberdin choreographed a selftitled dance.
