LACH Robert (29.1.1874–11.9.1958), musicologist, composer. His research papers are devoted to comparative musicology, music history, ethnomusicology, and psychology. Author of “Vergleichende Musikwissenschaft” (1924), “Studien zur Entwicklungsgeschichte der ornamentalen Melopöie” (1913), etc. During the First World War, he made a phonograph recording of the songs of prisoners of war in the Austro-Hungarian camps, among which were also Bashkirs, Tatars, Udmurts, and Chuvash from Bashkortostan. Author of the 3-volume collection “Gesänge russischer Kriegsgefangener” (1926–1952).
