PASSED LIFE

“PASSED LIFE”, “L i t t l e l e f t”, Bashkir ethnic song, uzun‑kuy. First registered in the 1930’s by S. Gabyashi. The lyrics are published in the book “Bashkir ethnic art”, notes and lyrics were published in the “Bashkort khalk yirdary” collection by G.Z. Suleymanov.  The song is‑ lyroepic. It is preceded by a legend about lovers who had a long happy life. They composed the song which shows their thoughts and regrets about the fast tempo of life. The songs mode is a major pentatonic. Musical phrases of the melody have an interval of the twelfth, they  slightly vary in repetitions and the variations differ only in cadences.
