AKHMETSHIN, Airat Akramovich
AKHMETSHIN, Airat Akramovich (b.4.12.1949, Ufa), Puppet Artist, Director. People’s Artist of the RF (2004) and BASSR (1985), Merited Artist of the RF (1991) and BASSR (1978). Graduated from the USIA (1991), Russian Institute for Retraining of Art and Cultural Figures (Moscow, 1994). Since 1966, an Actor (between 1991—94 and 2011—13 — Chief Stage Dir.) at the Bashkortostan Puppet Theatre, simultaneously between 1987—98 — a Lecturer at USIA. An actor of unique talent, able to create bright characters, convey different emotions and psychological shades of character. Adept at puppetry, acting techniques and expressive means, skillfully plays character and comic roles. As a director, he made his debut in 1984 with his play Golden Chicken by V.N.Orlov at the Puppet Theatre.
