BAKHTIYAROVA,  Zagida  Nuriyevna (31.12.1916,  Derevnya  Murzalar­Mechet­ lino of Zlatoustovsky Uyezd of Ufa Gub., now  Selo  Mechetlino  of  the  Salavatsky Raion  of  the RB  –  1978,  Ufa),  Ballet Dancer. Merited Cultural Worker of the BASSR (1972). One of the first Bashkir ballerinas.  Graduated  from  the  Bashkir College of Law (1934), Leningrad Con­ servatory (1950). Between 1938–64 Ballet Dancer, Teacher and Tutor for the Bashkir State Opera and Ballet Theatre, between 1965—74  worked  in  Oktyabrsky.  Knew a wide range of dance terminology and had an extraordinary ability for dramatic fusion with the character represented. B. organized dances in performances of the Bashkir Drama Theatre. R.Kh.Nureyev was one of her students.
