THE SILVER AKBUZAT
THE SILVER AKBUZAT, an international festival of national and ethnic cinema which has been held in Ufa since 2014. Its founders are the Government of the Republic of Bashkortostan, the Ministry of Culture of RB, the Bashkortostan Film Studio and the Union of Cinematographers of the RB. Its aims and objectives are: the promotion of spiritual and cultural values of the peoples of the world; the popularization of creative activities of TV filmmakers creating films on national and ethnic themes, the development of cultural exchange between the regions of Russia and foreign countries; making a positive contribution to the development of filmmaking as well as search for new, young filmmakers. The festival’s competition includes documentary, full‑length and short‑length films from film companies, film studios, independent producers, distributors and copyright holders. At the end of the festival, a Grand Prix and other prizes are provided for nominations, as well as special prizes of the Ministry of Culture of RB. Awards are also given by the judges, by the decision of the audience, and by the Union of Cinematographers of the RB. There are also the A.G.Abdrazakov prize for best operations and the G.G.Amirov prize for best camera work. Over the years, the Grand Prix was awarded to the following works: the Eternal Wanderer documentary (2014; Moscow; directed by T.V. Skabard), the Nastya short feature film (2015; Moscow; directed by K.V.Pletnyov), and The Story of Jalal full‑length feature film (2016; Bangladesh; directed by Abu Shahed Emon).
