FALCONIFORMES
FALCONIFORMES, an order of birds. There are 4 families known with 290 species. In the RB there are 30 species of Pandionidae, Falconidae and Accipitridae families. Non‑migratory, nomadic and migratory birds of average (the length of red‑footed falcon’s body reaches 33 cm with body mass range of 130–240 g) and large (the length of black vulture’s body reaches 110 cm with body mass range of 7–12.5 kg) sizes, the females are larger. They eat rodents and other mammals, birds, reptiles, and insects. Some also eat fish and carrion. They inhabit meadows, fields, areas close to water reservoirs, forests, steppes, and forest steppes. They are common everywhere. There are 12 species that are included in The Red Lists of the RB and the RF (snake eagle, imperial eagle, spotted eagle, lesser kestrel, etc), and 4 species included in The Red List of the RF (black vulture, sea eagle, griffon, sparrow‑hawk). Honey buzzard is included in The Red List of the RB.
