INSTITUTE OF LAW, the Ufa institution of higher education under the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the RF. Founded in 1971 under the name of Ufa Vocational School for Preparation of the Chief Staff of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the USSR under the Ryazan Vocational School. Since 1988 — the higher School of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the USSR (since 1991 — of the RF), since 1996 — the current name and status. The Institute comprises 5 departments: Distant Learning; Retraining and Advanced Training; Investigators; Police Officers; and Professional Training. Full‑time and distant learning training are available. There is a postgraduate military course. Every year more than 300 scientific works, textbooks, teaching aids, etc., are published in the Institute. The Vestnik of Ufa Institute of Law of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia journal is published. Nearly 24 thous. specialists have graduated from the institute by 2018. On the territory of the Institute there are: the A.M.Matrosov monument (1958) and the buildings of the churches of the Uspensky (Assumption) Monastery, which are historical and architectural monuments.
