INSTITUTE OFHISTORY, LANGUAGE AND  LITERATURE  O f  U R C  R A S.

Founded in 1932 in Ufa. Awarded the order “Badge of Honor” (1982). It provides studies for new scientific workers in the sphere of humanities; conducts archeological, ethnographic studies of the Bashkir people, historical and art, linguistic, literature studies, etc. Scientists of the institute study history, spiritual and material culture of the Bashkirs. I.h.l.l. published “History of Bashkir literature in 6 volumes” (1990– 96), “Native peoples of Russia: Bashkirs” (2007), “History of Bashkir people”, “Academical dictionary of the Bashkir language in 10 volumes” (2011–18), etc. Folklore materials, such as “Bashkort khalyk izhady”, “Bashkir ethnic art”; fundamental works, such as “Bashkir ethnic songs, song-lore”, “Bashkir ethnic lore and legends”, “Ural batyr. Bashkir ethnic epic” (2003), etc. were systematized and published; “Bashkir folklore” collection is published; folklore expeditions to RB lands and other regions of RF are conducted; the materials of these expeditions are in the Scientific archive of URC RAS, etc.
