ETHNIC MUSIC

ETHNIC MUSIC i s  m u s i c a l  f o l k l o r e, vocal and instrumental art of people. Traditionally it exists in oral and written forms, it is transferred from one generation to another. The main feature of E.m. is that its traditions are preserved. They include anonymity, syncretic connection with people’s drama, calendar poetry, ethnic dancing, family-household ritual poetry. E.m. is performed by ethnic singers accompanied by ethnic musical instruments. E.m. is based on singing folklore (see Ethnic song) and the basis of an instrumental melody is naigrysh. Musical folklore was closely studied by N.V. Akhmetzhanova, G.S. Galina, K.S. Ikhtisamov, F.K. Kamayev, L.N. Lebedinskiy,  V.A.  Moshkov,  S.G.  Rybakov, P.V. Pazukhin, I.V. Saltykov and others. The images of Bashkir E.m. and music of other peoples of Bashkortostan were collected during the folklore expeditions by the following scientists: D.Z. Valeev, G.G. Karmazin, Kirey Mergen, S.A. Galin, F.A. Nadrshina, R.S. Nasibullin and other people who loved Bashkir ethnic art, such as G.P. Beloretskiy, A.D. Khusainov and others. E.m. is studied in Institute of History, Language and Literature, Institute of ethnological studies, Institute of art and others. The data is in personal and folklore archives.
