FAMILY AND HOUSEHOLD RITUAL POETRY

FAMILY AND HOUSEHOLD RITUAL POETRY is verbal poetic folklore constituent of family­ household rituals. F.h.r.p is based on the belief in magic of word (see Magic). Benevolences, spells, zaklichkas, nasikhats, munazhats, songs, etc. are the genres of F.­h.r.p. F.­h.r.p. is presented at every stage of a person's life and at every moment of household activities. F­.h.r.p. includes prenatal, birth (see Children folklore), wedding, burial, recruiting (lamentation, lament) ceremonies; rituals connected with household activities and holidays (Great day, Ivana Kupala's holiday, Cuckoo's tes, Nauruz, Nardugan, Christmas, sabantuy, etc); healing and magical ceremonies. Recita­ tive and poetic addresses help to preserve the functional and performing features of the rites in the memory of the people.
