BASHKIRS, collective monograph (M., 2016; Editor-in-chief – R.G.Kuzeyev, E.S.Danilko) from the series Peoples and Cultures (Editorin chief – V.A.Tishkov). It was prepared by the employees of the Institute of Ethnology and Anthropology named after N.N.Mikluho-Maklay of the RAS (Moscow), the Institute for Ethnological Studies, and the History, Language and Literature Institute. It consists of an introduction, 12 chapters, containing general information about Bashkirs, language and writing, economy, decorative-applied arts, etc. The edition is supplemented with an extensive bib liographic list in the Russian, Bashkir and English languages and the list of the key terms. The monograph contains a big number of illustrations, mainly field photographs and drawings of the authors of texts, as well as ethnographic collections. This work deals with the basic phases of ethnic and social and political history, demographic processes and modern ethnocultural development of Bashkirs. Particular attention is paid to the history of the study, source analysis and ethnic mapping. The monograph includes the works by F.G.Galiyeva, R.G.Kuzeyev, F.G.Khisamitdinova, G.R. Khusainova, S.N.Shitova, R.M.Yusupov, R.Z.Yanguzin, etc.
