REPUBLICAN CHILDREN’S CLINICAL HOSPITAL

REPUBLICAN CHILDREN’S CLINICAL HOSPITAL, a multifunction pediatric clinic for provision of therapy and consultations for the children of the RB. The hospital also provides instructional support to the administration of the republican pediatric service. It is the training centre for healthcare workers concerned with child health protection. Founded in 1972. The Children’s Clinical Hospital consists of the consultative and diagnostic polyclinic, the inpatient clinic with 25 departments, the Neonatal Centre, and the Diagnostic and Treatment Service with 17 departments, 4 laboratories and 4 offices. The inpatient clinic houses such departments as Department of Otolaryngology, Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, Department of Gastroenterology, Department of Pulmonology, Department of Allergology, Department of Oncohematology and others. Over 20 thousand children are hospitalized and over 6 thousand surgeries are performed annually. Cochlear implantation surgeries, over 40 kidney transplantations, and the successful surgical treatment of severe scoliosis and intracerebral hemorrhages in new borns are performed in the hospital. All the required conditions have been provided for growth of newborns with low and extremely low birthweight (500–1500 g) in the Hospital. The Children’s Clinical Hospital houses 22 Republican Diagnostic and Treapeutic Centres and 13 Departments of BSMU. In 2018, it had over 300 MDs and over 600 healthcare workers employed.
