EXPLORATION WELL GEOPHYSICAL SURVEY INSTITUTE

EXPLORATION WELL GEOPHYSICAL SURVEY INSTITUTE, a research and designing/engineering institution, research and production enterprise (NPP). Located in Oktyabrsky Raion. Established in 1956. VNIIneftepromgeofizika (Ufa) and the Kalinin department of VNIIGIS (Tver) were established under the aegis of the Institute’s research units. Main activities include: the development of instruments and technologies for the geophysical survey of wells, incl. vertical seismic profiling, acoustic, radioactive and hydrodynamic logging, electromagnetic flaw detection, digital multi channel spectrometry, creation and implementation of self contained instruments and systems for exploration of horizontal and controlled directional wells, super deep wells, also, geophysical works, control of the well condition, etc. The Institute has invented more than 300 items of geophysical equipment and about 100 new technologies for well exploration. More than 800 invention certificates and patents have been obtained.
