WATERPROOF AND ROOFING MATERIALS. A production of roofing asbestoscement materials (slate of various types) and rolled materials (approx. 4 million m²/year) was mastered in Bashkortostan in the mid 50s; since the 90s — reinforced padding bitumen polymer materials (Bikrost, Bikroelast, Rubitex, etc), coatings (bitumen tiles, etc). OAO Krupnopanelnoye Domostroyeniye manufactured galvanized steel tiles with multi colored polymeric coating, Ufa Plant of Elastomer Materials, Articles and Structures — the Elon roofing material. BashNIIstroy has developed a technology and mastered the manufacturing of the rolled waterproofing material of the МКА brand (polyethylene film duplicated with fiberglass), more than 1 million m² has been produced since 1971; it is used for manufacturing of chemicals resistant floors and roofs of the industrial buildings. Technologies of bitumen polymer materials and mastics production have been developed by INKhP and implemented at various plants. The RB ranks 2nd (14.6%) in the output of roofing materials in the RF (2017).
