WATER CONTROL STRUCTURES

WATER CONTROL STRUCTURES, engineering structures designed for utilization of water resources and the protection of the environment against destructive effects of water. More than 120 water storage basins, 350 ponds and over 200 km of dams were created in the RB to protect agricultural lands, residential areas, and oil fields, against flooding and under flooding. Bank protection works were completed as part of the Bashgiprovodkhoz Institute projects at the South water intake facility of Ufa; hydropower stations were built in Selo Zilair of Zilairsky Raion and Selo Tirlyansky of Beloretsky Raion, etc. Hydropower stations are built and operated by Bashmeliovodkhoz; the Republic’s program for small hydropower stations construction is implemented jointly with the Bashkirenergo Company.
