GIMAYEV, Ragib Nasretdinovich (1.1. 1935, Derevnya Ibrayevo of Kiginsky Raion of the BASSR – 30.1.2016, Ufa), Chemical Technologist. Acad. of the AS RB (1991), D.Sci. (Engineering Sciences) (1977), Full Professor (1978). Merited Master of Science and Technology of the RSFSR (1985) and the BASSR (1973), Merited Worker of Petroleum and Petrochemical Industry of the USSR (1973), Merited Educationalist of the Higher Professional Education System of the RF (1997). Laureate of the Award of the Government of the RF in the Field of Science and Technology (2003). Awarded with the Order of Peoples’ Friendship (1981). After graduating from the UPI (1958) until 1963 he worked at the Novo Ufimsky Refinery. Since 1966 worked in the UPI, between 1981–99 Rector, since 2004 Adviser of the Rector of BSU. Between 1991–97 Vice President of the AS RB. Scientific research covers the study of thermal cracking of petroleum residues, pitches and carbon fibers. Between 1981–2000 the Chairman of the Council of Rectors of the RB. Deputy of the 3rd Session of State Duma, the 10–11th Sessions of the Supreme Council of the BASSR and the 12th Session – of the RB.
