CITY TRANSPORT
CITY TRANSPORT, a complex of different modes of transport, performing the carriage of population and cargo within the city limits and its nearest suburban zone, as well as performing city improvement works. Tram fleet operates in Salavat (1957) and Ufa (1936), trolleybus fleet – in Sterlitamak (1961) and Ufa (1962). In the city of Ufa, there are river crossings on the Ufa River and on the Belaya River. In other cities, the carriage of population is mainly performed with the help of the road transport. Passenger transportation is organized by the road transport enterprises of GUP Bashavtotrans and Bashkir Production Group of Bus Terminals and Passenger Bus Stations; tram and trolleybus traffic – by the Directorate of Electric Transport of Ufa, Sterlitamak, and Salavat; the activities of intraurban river transport are performed by the Ufa Service of Water Crossings, as well as by individual entrepreneurs. Cargo logistics is performed by the shipping enterprises of the RB and by individual entrepreneurs, the activities of specialized automobile transport are organized by the companies from the sector of housing and public utilities.
