STATE SYMBOLS OF THE RB

STATE SYMBOLS OF THE RB, a set of official symbols and emblems, reflecting uniqueness, historical and cultural traditions, peculiarities of geographical position, economy, intellectual and spiritual potentials of the RB. The S.s. include the Coat of Arms, the Anthem and the Flag.

The State Coat of Arms of the RB was approved in 1993. Designed by F.F.Islakhov, it is a circle, displaying the image of the Salavat Yulayev Monument (sculptor — S.D.Tavasiyev) against the background of the rising sun and its rays, fringed with the national ornament. In the bottom, there’s the kuray inflorescence and a ribbon, reflecting the colours of the State Flag of the RB with the inscription Bashkortostan on the white field thereof. The Salavat Yulayev Monument and the ornament are of golden colour, the kuray inflorescence is green, the rising sun is light golden, the rays are yellow, the background between the monument and the ornament is white, the inner and outer circles are dark golden.

The National Anthem of the RB was first approved in 1993. The composer is F.F.Idrisov, the National Artist of the RB; the poets are R.T.Bikbayev, R.Shakur; Russian translation by Idrisov and S.R.Churayeva.

The National Flag of the RB was approved in 1992. Authors — O.E.Asabina and U.T. Masalimov. It is a rectangular three colour cloth made of horizontal stripes of blue (meaning clarity, virtue and purity of thoughts of the peoples of the Republic), white (peacefulness, openness, readiness for mutual cooperation) and green (freedom, eternity of life) colours. In the centre of the white stripe, there is a golden emblem, showing a circle, inside which there is a symbol of kuray inflorescence (the symbol of friendship, its seven petals symbolize the seven families who united long in the past to lay the basis of the future RB).
