STATE ASSEMBLY—KURULTAY OF THE REPUBLIC OF BASHKORTOSTAN

STATE ASSEMBLY—KURULTAY OF THE REPUBLIC OF BASHKORTOSTAN, the highest representative body of state power. Successor of the Supreme Council of the RB (acted between 1938—95). S.A.—K. of the RB of the 1—2nd convocations consisted of the Legislative Chamber and the House of Representatives, since 2003 — unicameral. Consists of 110 Deputies, 18 of them work on a permanent basis; elected for a term of 5 years. Powers of S.A.—K. of the RB: adoption, making amendments and additions to Constitution of the RB, implementation of legislation, regulation on subjects of competence of the RB and subjects of joint jurisdiction between the RF and the RB within the powers of the RB; interpretation and monitoring of the laws of the RB implementation; approval of the forecast of the social economic development of the RB; approval of the RB budget and report on its implementation; establishment and procedure for changing of the RB administrative and territorial system; resolution of issues related to the change of the RB borders; election of the Chairman of the S.A.—K. of the RB and his or her Deputies; resolution of the question of distrust (trust) to Head of the RB; coordination of appointment to the post of Prime Minister of the Government of the RB, Prosecutor of the RB; appointment to the post of the President Judge, Deputy President Judges and Judges of the Constitutional Court of the RB; submission of proposals for amendments and (or) additions to the legal acts of Head of the RB for consideration by Head of the RB and the executive authorities of the RB; establishment of state awards, honorary titles, etc. Secretariat of the S.A.—K. of the RB provides organizational, legal, information, material and technical support to the S.A.—K. of the RB. Election of the S.A.—K. of the RB Deputies of the 1st convocation was held in 1995, 2nd — in 1999, 3rd — in 2003, 4th — in 2008, 5th — in 2013 and 6th — in 2018. Chairmen: M.A.Zaitsev (since 1995) and K.B. Tolkachyov (since 1999).
