GUMEROV, Asgat Galimyanovich (b.15.8. 1937 in Selo Starobaishevo of Dyurtyulinsky Raion, BASSR), Mechanical Engineer. Acad. of the AS RB (1991), Dr. of Engineering (1984), Full Professor (1986). Merited Scientist of the RF (1997) and BASSR (1974), Merited Worker of the RF Fuel and Energy Ministry (1997), Expert of the USSR Oil Industry (1976), Merited Oil Worker of the RF Fuel and Energy Ministry (2002). Laureate of the USSR Council of Ministers Award (1983), the RF Government Award in the field of Science and Engineering (2004) and I.M.Gubkin Award (1976, 1981, 2002). Awarded with the Order of the Badge of Honour (1971) and Order of the Peoples Friendship (2004). On graduation from the UPI (1958) works in IPTER (Institute of Energy Resources Transportation Problems; since 1978 as Dir., since 2001 as Gen. Dir.), at the same time in 1991—2011 as the Vice President and in 2005—07 as the Dir. of the Pipeline Transport Hydraulics Centre of the AS RB, in 1993—96 the Pres. of USC RAS, in 1999–2004 in USPTU. His research activity is dedicated to issues of pipeline transport reliability and safety assurance issues. Pres. of the Bashkortostan– India Friendship Society (since 1992) and Vice Pres. of Russia–India Friendship Society (since 1992). Deputy of the 12th session of the Supreme Soviet of the RB.
