TWO-SECTION TRANSPORTER

TWO-SECTION TRANSPORTER, a linked crawler for transportation of cargoes and passengers. It consists of two active sections (vehicle and trailer) linked together using the trailer, semi trailer or railway coupling schemes, complete with an independent steering mechanism. T. s.t. have been produced in Bashkortostan by Vityaz Plant (the only one in Russia) since 1982. They have developed T. s.t. with a loading capacity of 2, 5, 7, 8, 10, 20 and 30 tons; there are versions for long (up to 20 m) and indivisible cargoes (up to 50 tons), floating and military versions. Transport, expedition, process, rescue and emergency repair vehicles for working in difficult road and climatic conditions are produced based on the design of these T. s.t. Vityaz’ T. s.t. may return to the ship from the floating position and move with a damaged drive of one of the sections or without 1, 2 or 3 caterpillars. V.I.Savelyev, V.V.Semyonov, A.L.Chakheyev and A.F.Chelpanovsky won the RF National Award in the field of Science and Technology for the creation and implementation of DT 10P and DT 30P models in 1994.
