DEVLETKILDEYEV, Kasim Saliaskarovich [11.4.1887, Derevnya Kugul of Ufimsky Uyezd of Ufa Gub. (Blagovarsky Raion of the RB) — 19.1.1947, Ufa], Artist. Graduated from the A.L.Shtiglitz Central School of Technical Drawing (Petrograd, 1914). Since 1917, he lived and worked in Ufa. He is the first Bashk. professional artist, one of the founders of Bashkortostan Fine Arts. He was one of the originators of the genre of psychological portrait, created the gallery of portraits of the Bashk. figures of culture and art. He mainly worked using the watercolour technique. He created a series of works, devoted to everyday life of the Bashkirs: A Porch of the Bashkir Hut, Bashkir Girl, Bashkir Bear Hunter; Derevnya Novo-Usmanovo, Tubinsky Mine, General View of the Baymak Plant landscapes. A significant place in the D.’s creative work is allocated to still life paintings, characterized by exquisite colour palette. Between the 30—40s, he painted a number of works in the oil painting technique. The Republican Art Boarding School (ref. K.Devletkildeyev Artistic Gymnasium Boarding School) was named after D.
