THE HOUSE OF THE GOVERNOR
THE HOUSE OF THE GOVERNOR, a monument of town planning, history and architecture of the 19th century. It is located in Ufa (23 Tukayev Street) Built in 1850 (by architect A.D.Zakharov). A twostory stone building of late classicism style. The main facade is a symmetrical composition with a central pillar made from pilaster of ionic style, decorated with castiron cast dragons, which served as brackets for lamps, and a triangular pediment. Located on the perimeter of the facade, the frieze separated the first floor, which is distinguished by austerity and decorative artistic design (rustic), from the second, more elegant (arched windows with decorative plat bands). Before the construction of Aksakovsky People’s House, amateur performances were performed there, for which a stage with decorations, lodges, and dressing rooms for the actors were arranged. After the Revolution of 1917, it housed the Ufa Council of Workers’ and Soldiers’ Deputies, since the 20s different medical institutions. Since 1999, the building has been housing the Ministry of Health of the RB.
