NATURAL POPULATION CHANGES, a complex of processes affecting the birth and mortality rates and provide for continuous renewal and change of human generations.
There has been an increase in the birth rate due to the improvement of the standards and conditions of living of the population in RB since the beginning of the 21st century. The highest rate of life expectancy of the population (70.5 years) was registered in 1990, in 2004 — 66.26 years; the average life expectancy of men is 59.92 years and women — 73.16 years. The average age of residents of the RB was 38.6 years (men — 36.2, women — 40.7) in 2017.
RB rated 3rd (10,8‰) in the Volga Federal Area as per birth rate, the overall mortality rate in the RB is 14,2‰. The increase in the birth rate was due to the increase in the number of women under the age of 29 years (born in the 1970s and 1980s). 59,384 people were born in the republic in 2013 (0.4% more than in 2012). The natural population increase in 2015 was 59,196 people (exceeded the number of deaths by 9.4%, in 2014 — 12.6%), in the 1st half of 2018 — 19,341 people. The natural population increase in 2013 was 5,895 people, in the 1st half of 2018 — 2,483 people.
