ZAGRETDINOV, Robert Abdrakhmanovich (16.12.1932, Selo Azikeyevo of Mechetlinsky Raion of the BASSR — 1.3.2016, Ufa), Kubyz Player. Merited Worker of Culture of the RSFSR (1987) and BASSR (1981), Excellent Worker of Public Education of the RSFSR (1978) and BASSR (1974). Laureate of RB State Award named after Salavat Yulayev (1993). Awarded with the Order of Salavat Yulayev (2013). Graduated from the Ufa School of Arts (1962), Sverdlovsk Pedagogical Institute (1968). Since 1968, he worked as a Teacher at Ufa Pedagogical College No.2, between 1993—95, 1998—2007 — at USAA. World famous musician who masterfully played kubyz. Z.’s performance manner was inherent in improvisation, technical perfection, and subtle timbre nuance. In his repertoire there are transpositions of works by Bashk., Russian and foreign composers for kubyz, instrumental versions of Bashk. folk songs, personal compositions, original improvisations. He designed various types of kubyz: screw k., mouth stick k., 2 sided mouth k., 2 , 3and multi tone k., drawstring multi tone k., pear k. with a resonator, cumbra, k. with bells, three reed k., chromatic and electronic k. Chairman of the Center of Guimbarde Music in the Ural Volga Region (since 1992).
