ISHMATOV, Rafail Gazizovich (b.2.8.1952 in Chelyabinsk), Coach. Candidate of Pedagogic Sciences (2003). Merited Coach of Russia (1996), Master of Sports (ice hockey) of the USSR (1977), Merited Physical Culture Professional of the RB (1994). Awarded with the Order of Friendship (1996). Graduated from the Lesgaft Physical Culture Institute (1980), Higher School of Coaches of the Central Institute of Physical Culture (Moscow, 1985). Since 1985 Chief Coach of the Avangard team (Ufa), between 1991–99 and 2004–05 Head Coach of the Salavat Yulayev team. Between 2003–04, Head Coach of the Junior National Team of Russia. Headed by I., Salavat Yulayev team became the Winner of the International Ice Hockey Federation Cup (1994), Bronze Medalist of the International Hockey League Championships (1995–96) and Russia (1997); the Junior National Team of Russia became the World Champion (2003).
