HOLDERS OF THE ORDER OF GLORY OF THE THREE CLASSES. The Order of Glory was established by the Decree of the Presidium of the Supreme Council of the USSR dated November 8th, 1943, to award the Red Army Private and Sergeant military personnel, in aviation — also Junior Lieutenants. Had three classes, the 1st being the highest. Between 1943— 91, more than 2.6 thous. people, incl. 45 natives of the RB (ref. Annex) became holders of the Order. Materials about the holders of the Order of Glory are kept in the Museum of Military Glory, National Museum of the RB and other museums of the RB. Streets, enterprises and institutions in many settlements are named after the holders of theseorders; monumentsand commemorative tablets are established in their honour as well. Among the holders there are 10 Bashkirs.
