KAZTUGAN-YIRAU

KAZTUGAN-YIRAU, Kaztugan SuyenyshUly, Poet‑Improviser. No documented information about his life has been preserved. According to a number of Bashkir, Kazakh and Karakalp. scholars (M.Kh.Idelbayev, K.Mambetov, G.Mushtak, Kh.Suyinshaliyev et al.), he was born in ca. 1420 on the Volga River (near Selo Krasny Yar, Astrakhan Obl.). Originated from the military aristocracy. Was the Leader of one of the Turkic clans (supposedly, the Kara‑Kypsak clan of the Nogay genus). In the 2nd half of the 15th century, his clan headed by him left their homeland and became part of the Kazakh Khanate. G.B.Khusainov believes that this poet was born in the South Urals and belonged to one of the Bashkir clans. His creative heritage includes kubaira Oh, the Free, the Free, the Free People..., and the following two poems: The Song of Praise, and The Famous Spurs, the Blue Mountain Chains.... In his creative works K.‑y. affirms the idea of inseparable unity of the leader and his people, glorifies military valour and the native nature beauty. The creative works of Yirau are the common property of the Bashkir, Kazakh, Karakalpak, and Nogay peoples.
