KALYUZHNY, Viktor Ivanovich

KALYUZHNY, Viktor Ivanovich (b.18.4.1947 in Birsk, according to other data, in Sterlitamak), Russian Statesman, Diplomat. Awarded with the Order of the Badge of Honour (1984), Order of Friendship. Graduated from the UPI (1970). Between 1980—86, he worked in the CPSU Strezhevoy City Committee of Tomsk Obl., since 1990 Dir. of the production of oil and gas at the Vietsovpetro Joint Venture (Vietnam), since 1993 the 1st Deputy Gen. Dir. of AO Tomskneft (Strezhevoy), in 1997 the 1st Vice‑President of the Vostochnaya (Eastern) Oil Company (Tomsk). Since 1998 in Moscow: the 1st Deputy Minister, since 1999 the Minister of Fuel and Energy of the RF, since 2000 Deputy Ministerof Foreign Affairs and Special Representative of the President of the RF for identifying the legal status of the Caspian Sea. Between 2004—08, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the RF to Latvia.
