KANDRYKUL, a natural park of area 5.4 thous. ha within the territory of Tuymazinsky Raion. It was organized in order to preserve the unique natural complexes of the lake, the rare animal and plant species, to organize recreation and tourism (1995). In the territory of the naturalpark thereisKandrykul Lake, which has the 2nd largest surface in the RB. The relief is represented by plain and hills. Meadow steppes are common, mixed broadleaf forests and thickets of shrubs are less common. There are swampy areas. The near‑shore vegetation is represented by lake reed, pondweed, Butomus umbellatus, Alisma plantago-aquatica, etc. Flora accounts for about 450 species of higher vascular plants, including 10 relicts (Aconitum nemorosum, Thalictrum foetidum, savin juniper, Digitalis grandiflora, Festuca gigantea, Schoenus ferrugineus, etc) and 7 endemics (Astragalus helmii, Dianthus acicularis, Oxytropis hippolyti, Silene baschkirorum, Thymus bashkiriensis, Cicerbita uralensis, Lathyruslitvinovii). 11 rare plant species are included in The Red List of the RB (Herminium monorchis, Dinobryon korschikovii, etc), of which Cypripedium calceolus, Stipa pennata, Liparis loeselii are included in The Red List of the RSFSR. The fauna of K. is diverse. Hedgehog, roe deer, weasel, elk, ondatra, Spermophilus major, etc are common. 86 species of birds nestle here (great grouse, yellowbird, grass drake, black kite, quail, northern nightingale, blackcock, etc), 26 species stop here during migration (white‑fronted goose, red‑breasted goose, swans, etc). Rare animal species (European Arctic loon, red‑breasted goose, little tern, etc) are mentioned in The Red List of the RF.
