KANZAFAR-BIY

KANZAFAR-BIY, Bashkir Min tribe Leader. Led the Mins (tribe) struggle against the Nogay Horde. According to a Shezhere and other historical sources, K.-b. together with the leaders of the Min tribal units, Tuman, Urman, Chublyuk, negotiated the accession of Min Bashkirs to Russia (ref. Accession of Bashkortostan to Russia). After the agreement was signed, he received a Zhalovannaya Gramota, confirming his Russian citizenship. K.‑b. was awarded the title of Tarkhan.
