ZALAVIN, Konstantin Petrovich (19.9.1915, Selo Beloretsky Zavod of Verkhneuralsky Uyezd of Orenburg Gub., now Beloretsk, – 11.9.2001, Ufa), Industrialist. Merited Chemist of the RSFSR (1985). Awarded with the Order of Lenin (1966, 1971), Order of the October Revolution (1976), the 1st Class Order of Patriotic War (1985), Order of Peoples’ Friendship (1981), Order of the Red Star (1980), Order of the Badge of Honour (1949). Participant in the Great Patriotic War. Graduated from the Sverdlovsk Higher Party School (1954). Since 1932, he worked at Beloretsk Metallurgical Plant, since 1938 – at Beloretsk Steel Wire Rope Plant. Since 1942 Chairman of the Executive Committee of the Beloretsk Town Council, since 1948 Secretary of the Dyomsky and Leninsky raions committees of the CPSU of Ufa, since 1958 the Minister of the Consumer Goods Industry of the BASSR. Between 1959–93 Dir. of UZEMIK. Under the leadership of Z., the production of air voyage, marine and aviation emergency rescue equipment, large sized pneumatic structures, offset printing plates, etc was mastered.
