ZAKHAROV, Ruslan Albertovich (b.24.3.1987 in Gorky), Athlete. Merited Master of Sports (short track) of Russia (2011). Awarded with the Order of Friendship (2014), Order of Salavat Yulayev (2014). A trainee of the Specialised Children and Youth Sports School of the Olympic Reserve No.1 (Ufa; Coach – A.A.Timerbulatov). Champion of the Olympic Games (2014) in the relay. European Champion at the distance of 3000 m (2009) and in the relay (2013–15), Bronze Medalist of the World Student Games (2009) at 1000 m, multiple Silver and Bronze Medalist of the European Championships at individual distances, in the relay and all around. The record holder of the Olympic Games (2014) in relay and Russia (2009 – 1000 m; 2011 – 3000 m). Participant of the Olympic Games (2010). Member of the Russian National Team (since 2005).
