IGEBAYEV (Igibayev), Abdulkhak Khazhmukhametovich [2.7.1930 in Derevnya Kuseyevo, Zilairsky Canton of the BASSR (now Baymaksky Raion of the RB) — 27.9.2016 in Ufa]. People’s poet of the RB (2010). Merited Cultural Sector Professional of the Russian Federation (1991) and the BASSR (1980). Laureate of the Salavat Yulayev State Award of the BSSR (1991) and Salyam Award (1968). Awarded with the Order of Salavat Yulayev (2005). Member of the Union of Writers of the RB. Graduated from the Timiryazev Bashkir Ped. Institute (1950) and Higher Lit. Courses under Gorky Lit. Institute in Moscow (1971). Between 1950–69, employee at the Krasnaya Zarya and Soviet Bashkortostan newspapers and the Pioneer magazine. Between 1971—90, Department Chairman in the Agidel magazine (all — in Ufa). Author of the following poetic works: Even Stones Can Miss You (1972), Untold Words (1990), memoirs titled Fateful Passes (2002), a book of poems and fairy tales for children, etc. The creative works of I. were translated into Kazakh, Kyrgyz, Tat., Ukrainian, Yakut and other languages.
