IGLINSKY RAION
IGLINSKY RAION, located in the central part of the RB. Established on January 31, 1935 due to the disamalgamation of Ufimsky Raion of the BASSR. Abolished on February 1, 1963, territory became a part of Ufimsky and Nurimanovsky raions. Newly established on March 3, 1964. Abolished on January 13, 1965, territory became a part of Nurimanovsky Raion. Newly established on December 30, 1966. Territory — 2,456 km2. Adm. centre — Selo Iglino, which is located 49 km NE of Ufa. Population — 62.8 thous. people (2017).
In 2018, the area of agricultural lands amounted to 108.1 thous. ha (44.0% of the total area), including arable lands — 49.6, hayfields — 21.6, pastures — 37.4; forest area — 125 and surface waters — 2.2. Agricultural enterprises [a MUSP, 65 peasant (farmer) farms] specialize in the cultivation of grain crops, meat and dairy cattle breeding. Bee-keeping, horse breeding and vegetable growing are well-developed. On the territory of the Raion there are GUPs RB Iglinsky Forest, Iglinsky Forestry. There are also: Iglinsky Scales Plant, OOO Spetskhimzashchita (Special Chemical Protection Equipment) and others. The Kuibyshev Railway (Ufa—Kropachevo section), Samara—Ufa—Chelyabinsk, Ufa— Iglino—Krasnaya Gorka, and Iglino—Arkhangelskoye highways cross the territory.
There are: a branch of Bashkir Agricultural College, 31 general education schools with 3 branches, 4 supplementary schools, a special (remedial) boarding school in Selo Krasny Voskhod, an orphanage for children and teenagers in Selo Okhlebinino, 24 preschool educational institutions, children’s music and arts schools, an equestrian school, a children’s activities centre, a physical training club, Young Technicians Club; a central hospital, 3 medical outpatient clinics, 42 medical and obstetrical centers, a boarding house for elderly and disabled people in Selo Kudeyevsky; 43 clubs, 31 libraries, and a local history museum. There are: 4 exemplary and 10 folk amateur art groups.
